Who we are

VetPriceCheck is a trading name of Thornton Works Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16985968). We operate the website vetpricecheck.co.uk. For data protection purposes, we are the controller of the personal data you provide to us.

If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at [email protected].

What data we collect

Currently, the only personal data we collect is what you provide when you join our waitlist:

  • Email address (required)
  • First name and last name (optional)
  • Pet type (optional)
  • The date and time you signed up
  • Which section of the site you signed up from

We also collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance monitoring purposes. These are not linked to your identity and are deleted after 90 days.

How we use your data

We use your email address to contact you when VetPriceCheck launches, and to send you the CMA rights guide we have promised to waitlist members. We will not send you unrelated marketing without your separate consent.

We use your name to personalise our communications. We use your pet type to tailor launch communications to what is relevant to you.

The legal basis for processing your data is your consent, given when you submitted the waitlist form. You can withdraw this consent at any time by emailing us or clicking unsubscribe in any email we send you.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with veterinary practices, insurers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.

We may use third-party processors (such as email delivery services) to communicate with you. These processors act under our instruction and are bound by data processing agreements compliant with UK GDPR.

How long we keep your data

We will hold your waitlist data until you ask us to delete it, or until 12 months after VetPriceCheck launches. At that point we will ask you to re-confirm your preferences as a registered user or delete your record.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Our site currently uses only essential cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will email waitlist members and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
